VOLYOUME MUSIC APP
Volyoume is a social music app meant to connect others through music. The main app features include a home page (Featured screen), Live DJ, a GPS based Explore screen, and user profiles (My Studio). This was a term-long project.

Project prompt: I was asked to create an interactive app that is relative to the local community of Corvallis, Oregon (though boundaries may expand further). I chose to focus on music since relationships can be formed just by sharing the same music tastes, so I created a concept that was both social and community driven.

Log Off
Log Off was a campaign for a fictional TED Talk event discussing the matters of social media and the lack of human interaction. It includes three main types of promotional deliverables: a promotional poster, a postcard, and an evite.
Project prompt: research three TED Talk speakers discussing similar topics (in this case, social media use) and create a timeline for when and where these characters would speak. Design a visible system around the event, the typographic title to be the focus.

Self-Initiated Homemade Book Project
In May of 2017, I traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark, to study Danish graphic design for two weeks. Before my departure, I decided to craft a homemade book to take with me and use to record my surroundings, what I learned that day, and my experiences. The book took one week to complete.

I made this book all by hand. I had a lot of fun making it and used it well.

These are all the supplies used to complete this book project. Items include: fabric, a large drawing pad, red card stock paper, a thread and needle, a box cutter, an awl, PVA glue, a paintbrush, a bone folder, binder clips, a pencil, a ruler, and a t-square. That's it!

I began by measuring and cutting out paper from the drawing pad. This paper served as my text block.

After piercing holes in the folds of each paper and configuring signature sets, I began sewing all the signatures together into one full text block.

Once the text block was sewed, I returned to the drawing pad and carved the hard backing, which was used for both the covers and spine of my book. I then cut the red card stock for my end sheets. The fabric was cut to an appropriate size to which the hard covers were glued via the end sheets. And just as a bonus, I grabbed some red spray paint and sprayed the Danish flag on the front.

During the trip, I learned so much about design through the studio tours and the workshop. Any new insight or interesting knowledge I had gained was recorded in my personalized book. I was proud to use my own product for my own ideas and experiences.
