About

Aspiring Graphic Designer

I am a student at Oregon State University studying a BFA in graphic design with a minor in photography. I will be graduating in spring 2019. I love all design, but I am passionate about typography, advertising, and branding.

Back in May 2017, I traveled to Copenhagen to study abroad in graphic arts. All the tours, studios, and workshops I attended vastly inspired me and broadened my design perspectives. I learned how important it was to network and experience new ideas and methods.

My weapons of choice are Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. I'm also skilled in Premiere Pro and Dreamweaver. I am in love with the wabi-sabi aesthetic; anything that's messy like splatter, smearing, or is simply imperfect is beautiful to me. I also find merit in cleanliness and structure.

My current goals are to intern at a large industry (specifically an entertainment industry) to gain more experience, professionalism, and interpret unique strategies. An entertainment industry would give me the opportunity to learn about production and interactive design. I want to grasp the concepts behind film, music, books, or video game production, take part in creative discussions, and meet like-minded people that share my passions.

To me, being a designer means learning as you go. I enjoy observing my surroundings and talking to new people and other designers. It's important to me to gain new insight and perspectives throughout not only my career, but my life as well. Experience is what makes a person wiser.
